Individual Therapy

Let us journey with you toward a more empowered life.  A life where you can feel fully at peace and fully present.  Together we will explore the pain that has been holding you back, keeping you from being your authentic self and living the life you want to live.  Whether you are currently in the midst of a difficult season or wanting to process through earlier painful experiences that you know are still affecting you, our therapists are here to walk with you toward healing and peace.  We help individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship issues, parenting struggles, anger, grief, sexual issues and addiction.  We work with teens and young adults through identity development, academic stresses, social conflicts, anxiety, depression and self harm.

Couples Therapy

Is your relationship trapped in a pattern of anger, resentment and withdrawal? Are you tired of feeling like your worst version of yourself within your most precious relationship? There is a way out. Working together, we will uncover early painful experiences and the resulting coping behaviors that cause destruction in your relationships with others and with yourself. Our hope is that our time together will restore you both to your best selves, allowing you and your partner come back to one another - not in the old way, but in a new way that offers long term connection and safety together.

"Do the best you can until you know better.  Then when you know better, do better." - Maya Angelou

Family Therapy

La Canada Family Therapy was founded because of our passion to contribute to the strength and health of local families.  When working well, families can be a place of safety and love that promote growth for every member.  Unfortunately, when trapped in damaging cycles of anger, power struggles, and disconnection, families become places of pain and frustration.  Sometimes families experience growth and healing from only one member seeking therapy.  Couples who invest in their relationship or learn more about parenting become more loving more reliable family members.  However, often the greatest growth comes from therapy sessions that include everyone in the family.  Our therapists have specialized training in working with families and can help to identify and repair these damaging cycles - moving your family toward a place where family members feel seen, loved, heard and safe.

"What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family." - Mother Teresa

Pre-Marital Therapy

We can help you and your fiance enter marriage knowing what your potential challenges might be and feeling prepared to face conflict in a loving and safe way with one another.  We will help you identify your couple pain cycle and provide skills that allow you to have greater compassion for yourself and for your partner promoting fewer conflicts and more connection.  We will explore issues of forgiveness, responsibility, extended family, sexuality, finances, parenting, friends, and any other topics that emerge during our time together.

All of our therapists are certified Prepare/Enrich facilitators and will administer the Prepare/Enrich assessment for you for an additional fee.

"Love isn't a state of perfect caring.  It is an active noun like 'struggle.'  To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now." - Fred Rogers
